Connecting research and clinical care
NijCa²re is the acronym for the Nijmegen Centre for Anxiety and Affective Disorders Research and Expertise foundation, a partnership of the Clinical Psychology research group of the Behavioural Science Institute (BSI) of the Radboud University (RU) and the Expertise Centre for Anxiety, OCD and PTSD and the Expertise Centre for Depression (both divisions of Pro Persona). With this close collaboration, NijCa²re seeks to bridge the gap between science, research and the clinical treatment practice of anxiety disorders and depression.
NijCa²re focuses on three areas of expertise:
- The treatment of anxiety disorders and depressive disorders according to best clinical practices based on the latest scientific insights. In this context, NijCa²re is also involved in the development of new, evidence-based treatments and interventions.
- Scientific research that specifically addresses issues that are most relevant to (the treatment of) patients suffering from an anxiety disorder or depression and (the further training of) consulting therapists.
- The dissemination of new scientific insights by means of (scientific and clinical) publications and through the education of psychology undergraduate and graduate students and post-graduate professional training programmes for psychology graduates and (mental-)health professionals.
By combining science and clinical care, NijCa²re strives to guarantee topical, sound research and optimal treatment practices.
