NijCa²re: Getting a grip on anxiety disorders and depression
NijCa²re, the Nijmegen Centre for Anxiety and Affective Disorders Research and Expertise foundation, is a partnership of the Clinical Psychology department of the Behavioural Science Institute (BSI) www.ru.nl/bsi of Nijmegen’s Radboud University (RU) www.ru.nl and the Expertise Centre for Anxiety, OCD and PTSD and the Depression Expertise Centre, both divisions of Pro Persona www.propersona.nl. With this close collaboration, we seek to bridge the gap between science and the clinical treatment practice in the fields of anxiety and depressive disorders. Our research is aimed at gaining a better understanding of their aetiology and course, and at the improvement of their treatment with a particular focus on shortening and intensifying therapies and developing interventions for patients that do not (sufficiently) benefit from existing treatment schemes. In addition, NijCa²re provides education and training for clinical psychology students at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels as well as post-graduate professional training programmes for health and clinical psychologists and psychiatrists.
